Post Wicked Windamere!
Hey fellas,

Me and the boys hit Windamere last Saturday and Sunday the 8th and 9th of Oct.

The low and sluggish barometer ensured that our annual Windie trip was going to be hard work. We battled hard over the two days to score 14 Golden Perch up to 620mm and a single 990mm (bycatch) Murray Cod, which took a liking to a ginger beer coloured compact bass spinnerbait, with a size three single willow blade.

FAST FACTS
Water temp: 14-18 degrees
Air temp: 18-21 degrees
Barometer: 1001-1007
Additional facts: High algae bloom in the main basin, while we noticed a number of dead catfish washed up on the banks.

Dont have the photos on my computer, but the boys have loaded the rest of the trip wrap and pics at www.teamgoodang.com.au

Cheers,
Norbs

Know how you feel Norbs. I fished Windamere with a mate the weekend before you guys were there and I reckon the air temp didn't get above 14 and the warmest water temp we could find was about 14.5, week before it was around 18. It was overcast, showered at times and the wind didn't stop blowing the whole time we were there. We managed to land 5 fish in 2.5 day with the biggest about 58cm.

I'd like to say its the worst conditions I have have fished in at Windamere but unfortunately I have fished in worse. That place can be so brutal at times, yet I still find myself heading over there time after time even though I now live 8hrs away.

Can't wait to get back there.

Sheeny

Not to mention the low barometer we had hanging over our heads Sheeny – was so low, with a bit of a leap I’m sure you could have leapt up and touched it… always makes native fishing tough.

But, I’m hearing ya, the place will still draw me back.

Norbs,

Good report and pics Norbs & Co. I am looking at getting up there this weekend. I'm hoping the warmer temperatures predicted later this week might turn them on a bit. 8-)

Cheers...Brett

Cheers Brett.

Hopefully they will need only a week of warmer temps to come out to play...
