 Re: What lures for redfin
Soft plastic squidgies seem to get the job done in the bendigo area small spinners and hard bodied lures also mwork well.

Yep, the JD Depthmasters would be one of my first pics.
Or AC invader Slims.... We also used to do well in skinny streams with RMG Poltergeists in the 3m 50mm version...

Lures for Redfin, mmm on a good day anything!
On quite days need to mix it up and find the color and or depth of the day.
The old trusty small stump jumpers have worked well for me as has certain small Rapala's. AC slim invaders and other small models work well too.
Caught a heap of big Reddies at Easter casting Jackall Vibes also.

 Re: What lures for redfin
soft plastics have been producing fish for me on a regular basis, particularly as water temps dropped the ability to fish them slowly on the bottom in deeper water. sqidgie fish and wrigglers 60-100mm being the most productive but berkleys and others have all worked too.
dont be afraid to use big jig heads 5-6 grams and sometimes bigger, i found this gets your plastic to the bottom quicker and keeps it down deep which is where the fish have been. and as most will know reddies aren't real fussy!
as for color i've found the ones with glitter in them may have had a slight advantage but i usually try to match what ever it is the fish have in there guts and this was mostly small reddies and in the last few weeks after some warmer weather they've been full of yabbies.
this is whats worked for me in locations i've fished lately, but my best advise would be to ask someone who's been fishing(and catching) at the spots you intend to fish and whats working for them and go from there.
cheers JR...

 Re: What lures for redfin
Have found reddies love jackall vibes. River or lake casting them out and jigging them just of the bottom. U will get a snag or to but the bigger reddies smash them.

 Re: What lures for redfin
At times schooling reddies will eat any lure you thro at them but from what i've seen soft plastics can produce the larger quality fish ,and if your in trout water they catch them too which is a bonus ,trying out different retrieves makes soft plastics fun to fish . Anything with a curltail seems to be a winner on reddies.
