Post What battery size?
Codseekers.
Just picked up my new terrova i-pilot, and am looking at batteries. Was wondering what the Minn Kota's are like in regards to power usage?
I previously had a motor guide 55lb on our 4m proline, and an 80amp/hour gave us about 3-4 days of solid use mainly casting work tho. The new kota is goin on our 4m Bass elite, tossing up between an 80 amp or a 100 amp, is the 100 amp going to be worth the extra dollars and weight?
I have heard the Kotas with the extra gizmo's can be a bit heavier on battery consumption.
Any insight will be appreciated. ;)

With the digital steering/Autopilot I niw get aboiut 2hrs less with mine trolling on a 460, Ive got a 100ah.

Go the bigger one if its on a 400 itll go well, the little extra in weight will pay off ona windy day.

Heres a tip we troll with ours & if I trun off the AutoPilot itll go fer 12hrs straight @ 4/5
With A/P on it'll get 7/8hrs, the A/P just uses that little bit more juice

Rowan ,
Angry is right , mate go bigger !! I'd run a minimum of 120 amp & if you dont want to worry about charge & can fit them I'd go 2 of them !!
When ya pricing them have a look at the full river batteries or even ritar , & if ya get a fright :) give me a call ! I can sell both brands & others
cheers AL
