I have started a thread over on fishnet about a camping trip/get together for any body interested in chasing some trout in the streams. I started it on fishnet because i think there are a lot more trout fisherman from this side of the state on fishnet than any other site, that being said, of course anybody is welcome to come along.
I have decided i will be camping at the Edi cutting, which is about 20 minutes from Wangaratta on the king river, on melbourne cup weekend, which is 30/31 october and 1/2 november. I will be camping the sat and sun night, and possibly the monday night too.
If anybody is interested in heading over and chasing a few stream trout, please feel free to join in.
There is 2 lakes (lake william hovell, and lake buffalo) both containing redfin and trout within an hour, and tonnes of trout streams and rivers in the area.
My wife and kids will most likely be there, so feel free to bring along the family for a family weekend.
There is only limited trout fishing at the actual campsite, but its the biggest and best campsite in the area, and trout fishing can be found as close to 15 minutes away.
There is sambar deer hunting directly across the road from the camp for anyone interested.
