 Sounder wanted.
I'm looking for a sounder for 2nd boat that I can lend to Son-in-law. Nothing fancy, really only need depth and temp, colour nice but not essential. Will sit on gunwhale, so maybe bracket mount ideally. If you just got a HD, maybe you're old one would suit. Live in Eastern Suburbs, get to City/Pt Melb regularly also. Hope someone can help; buying a new one might not be worth the effort or price. cheers dave.

 Re: Sounder wanted.
Seems like there's a multitude of options out there, I should have looked further into it. Thanks Vass for PM'ing, did you get my reply? Looks like we'll get a newie, probably upgrade mine as well, lots of models and very good prices as well. I've never actually bought a sounder, only had 2 boats and they came fitted. It's a buyers market, same as with any retail these days eh? dave.

 Re: Sounder wanted.
CH Smith marine in Collingwood, the biggest and best range of sounders in stocked in Melbourne and good prices. I seen a base model lowrance advertised for $125. They have a good website to with details and pricing. With the money you save you could slip down Smith St to the Robbie Burns Hotel for a great quality Steak! lol (although I think its closed atm)

Sounds like a good deal Butch, especially with the steak thrown in!

You can have my old lowrance finder that came with my boat if you want. It will do a if you don't want anything flash. Will just have to work out how to get it to you.

 Re: Sounder wanted.
Good advice. I'm off to CH Smith on Monday morning. It seems they have a great range and not as pricey as I first thought. Should get something suitable without breaking the bank, the little 3.5" Colour Garmin unit looks good. Wilbur, thanks so much for your generous offer, much appreciated. The sounder has to be fitted and working next week as they're off on holidays on Thursday morning. And..you must be psychic boys. It's the Railway Club in Pt Melboune afterwards for a very big Rib Eye and a few beers and a Shiraz or 2..Yum! dave.
