Thanks for all the comments guys, we are just lucky that Jake & I were right there when Paul hooked up & he was straight on the job & videoed (sp) the whole thing on his phone, quality is pretty good really. Must apologise for all the swearing, there are a few people who I will be showing it to with the volume turned off We were all a bit excited seeing as how it was probably the last thing we expected to see on the weekend.

Over the coming years I'm sure we will see some absolute monsters come out of Eildon. I posted on Fishnet about 10 years ago that Eildon reminded me of Copeton Dam in NSW where plenty of monster Cod have bene caught over the years and with the stocking efforts in Eildon we will see an excellent Cod fishery in 10 years or so, it looks like its all about to happen

Well done fellas freaking unreal beast of a cod and qaunger thats a bloody great yella great fun to catch one they get over 55cm. Seeing the pics its amazing transformation of eildon i use to fish it alot when i lived in benalla back 05 and it was mostly in the 20% range.

Great fish there fella's and good video footage of the cod, sounds like it was a good weekend.

Top pics Nev and congrats again Paul on a top fish. Vass and I come up with only reddies and trout....not a frigen yella would play the game for us. A couple of follows from some big ones but none wanting to smash our lures. Had a ball of a weekend as always.

Well every capture has a story !!
First off I've gotta thank my mate James from mansfield for putting us on to the location ! Pauly owes him at least a slab A big congrats to Pauly !! he was a very excited boy & didn't shut up for the rest of the day I'll also add that there was definately not enough space in his boat between him & me & i wasn't game to bend over to pick anything up off the deck for the rest of the day There was actually 6 fish caught all in the space of about an hour & a bit & all along the same stretch of water ! Pauly's prized cod & yella , Nevs spotted carp & prized yella , my little dark cod & Craigs fat sucker of a cod !! I did take notice that there was a slight change in weather conditions & a slight drop in the barometer. My mate had told me that blue jackalls had been working for him & of course we didnt have any of them but Pauly had a blue spinner bait ,so he said what do ya reckon will we chuck it on ?? I said why not !! So he'd only just changed lures . We were headin past this snag & I chucked a Jackall in there at it & got bumped on the retrieve !! I said to pauly , mate back up I just got a hit on that snag !!! So we put 6 or 7 casts in there each & all of a sudden Pauly's yelled " I'm on !!! " The rest is now history I've got to say that the thrill & excitement of being on the boat whilst one of these monsters is caught & released is pretty close to actually catching it yourself & to watch your mate get his fish of a lifetime & share the experience in front of good mates is even better !! Without Nev & Jake being there who knows how it would've ended up !! We didnt have a net big enough to get it in & had to use Nev's & we had that much shit spread around the boat that we didnt have room to lay him down so we past him over to Nev's boat What a Great day & well done Paul !!!
Next week off to Awoonga & hopefully the Barra will play the game !! I cant wait !! Heres a couple more pics
