Gçday Guy's
Things have been a bit quiet of late round the forums so i thought I'd just add a bit to Simons thread !
It was asked in an earlier post if the brace running from the transom to the backseat was for a bigger motor ? As Simon said it was specifically for the decking / hatches & transom well ! But having said this , the fact is , that having braced the transom & then completed all the decking Simons boat would now stand a good chance of being able to be rerated for a larger motor because of the increased thrust capacity !!

food for thought . At the request of Simon I also refurbished is trailer , because it was a bit of a biatch to load on his own ! He also needed somwhere to put his spare wheel other than in his boat on the new carpet
here she is before with all the wrong rollers on it & the old timber & black rubber bunks

So first off get rid of the old rollers & then remove the black rubber & replace with blue magnalene rollers & strip . Then to make retrieving easier for him when he's on his own I made him some flipper skids & a bow catcher to so he can just drive the boat on

The idea of these is , that if the boats a bit off centre whilst it's being loaded then the keel slides down the skid back onto the roller !
Also to make it easier , particulary if there's a bit of a current or crosswind I made him a bow catcher to help guide the boat to the centre of the roller

This system with the correct rollers & new bunkstrips etc it will now be so much easier to launch & retrieve !!

Then it was onto the spare wheel . Make up a bracket to mount the wheel to the front of the trailer & jobs now done

cheers AL
