 Power poles?
Has anyone had one or been in a boat that has one? What are they like? Useful or not?

 Re: Power poles?
i'm rellay getting colse to upgrade time and i think if your going to get 1 you might as well go two. look very useful for place like Mulwala and shallow flat fishing.
two would hold you still and even hold you off the bank when you want to moor the boat for the night

 Re: Power poles?
Mmm, dunno about that, what's with all the roaring around flatout with 'em down? Bit gimmicky I reckon, would rather invest in a new Minnkota with I pilot & spot lock, reckon I would be way more likely to get my moneys worth that way. 8ft of water or less? Sure I fish that sort of depth but the boat is usually sitting in a bit deeper water & casting back into the shallower stuff, can't see 'em being a big thing here in Oz. JMO.

 Re: Power poles?
Yeah me too, they are getting a name in NSW and QLD for the Bass fishermen. I think they are testing them in the vid driving around with them down. They would be good in the back waters of Mul and some of the smaller creeks around the place. My pilot is good but not sure if it would keep up with the power pole. Will keep reading up on them for now.

 Re: Power poles?
Think they are a pole that rams down to anchor you in the one spot. They have huge wank factor in the states. Can't see them being used much here unless you get one for free.

 Re: Power poles?
Minn Kota have been working on a cheaper version of one of these for some time, they could evenbe out already in the USA. I remember reading about them when looking up last years Icast International tackle show. Paul Worseling did an article on them in Freshwater fishing a few years back also. I imagine the good quality ones arnt to bad and would be made good enough to do the job but the basic ones like minn kota showed wouldnt be that long lasting i imagine.
I'm sure some accesories man will have them soon! lol What ever happend to the small old piece of railway line tied to a rope that all the old time cod fisho's used to use for a holding anchor?
