 picnic point
I was just wondering if the river between Picnic Point and Barmah was hit by the black water last year. I was looking at doing a 3 day trip once cod season gets going and I wasnt sure if it was worth fishing this stretch. hopefully you guys can tell me whether it would be worth while going.

 Re: picnic point
Have had a lot of water under the bridge since then then mate so I wouldnt let it worry you. Rivers been up and down like a yo-yo but it truly is a beautiful stretch of river, worthy of at least a three day trip Remember to have a crack at the Edwards offtake and down at the Barmah lakes entrance. oh.. and all the holes inbetween Take lots of beer and photos Johnny

Webster
With all the scary writings from a certain group of people saying the river has been wiped out of cod below the Goulburn junction to Wentworth { a seven hundred k stretch of water } theres going to be thousands of anglers focusing on the areas above Barmah through to lake Mulwala this season, while the seven hundred k stretch will recieve little attention from cod anglers leaving alot of buisness struggling i think:(...I have heard cod have been caught in the blackwater affected areas ,so they are moving back ,hopefully the people who shouted out loud all the cod are dead are shouting just as loud and being active in a fish stocking program for these affected areas . Good luck with your fishing mate .

Top comment chicky! It's easy to use the media for pointing the blame at this and that group, then just go fishing somewhere else ,you should'nt just parrot on about whats happened you should be doing somthing constructive in the restoration of the lost fish stock if you feel that stronly about it .
