OH MY GOD! I never thought I would see the day.
Well folks I never thought I would ever see the day when I was amazed by anything in the fishing game. To say I have been amazed would be an understatement. I went for a spin with Brett H in his new boat the other day. Apart from being dissapointed about the performance of his poxy old mercury- and the rough ride of the stacer hull- I did find something of great value in there!!! I am almost prepared to take back every bad word I have ever said about lowrance fish finders! Brett has one of the new HDS8 units with the structure scan and it is BLOODY UNREAL! Never in all my time have I ever seen something so brilliant. It is hard to describe just how good this thing was but I found myself glued to the tv screen Every log, every limb was as visible as if it were right in front of me. The blokes who invented these things need a medal and I for one am sold. If yu havent checked one out yet do yourself a favour and go for a spin with somone who has one. You too will be amazed I am sure.

HaHa gee all this from the man who said it was nonsense and not needed and a waste of money. I plan to get one in the near future, nearly got one the day Brett got his but couldn't decide which size to get. They certainly are a massive advancement in technology and the view is unbelievable until you see it. Now we just have to get you back on to believing in Loomis Rods again! -Boob's

Re: OH MY GOD! I never thought I would see the day.
I have a HDS10 and structure scan on the dash and that is linked to a HDS7 on the back of the boat for the passengers. linking them together you get the same pictures on both. Left scan, right scan, down scan, down scan overlayed on conventional sonar, conventional sonar and navigation GPS. you can also have different configurations on each sounder. It certainly is a leap forward in technology. Humminbird have the same system, but I havent seen it to compare. If it is anything like the Lowrance system it will be briliant. If your looking at the Lowrance system get the HDS10 it has a bigger screen and alows you to put up the same images as the smaller units but they are bigger and easier to read. Wayne
