Post Lure Mods on the run.
Here are some quick mods I do to spinnerbaits when I'm out on the water.

This one is good when your out in the kayak and can't take to many lures.
All you need is a couple different colour spinnerbaits eg: light, dark and natural colour.
Then taking some different types and sizes blades you can change the spinnerbait to suit your needs.

Willow blades to get more depth or to have a faster retrieve and great for the faster water.

Colorado blades for more vibrations and a slower drop.

The inbetweeners like the Magnum, royal willow or indiana blades.

And then the different colours, gold, copper, black nickel and the silver for more flash.
I have been finding the silver great for the clear water.

Here is another quick and easy one.
The rattles you can get for your skirts collars, I use them on the tip of the spinnerbait where you tie your line.
That way if you hit a snag it can make them work along with jigging, also if you don't want them on they are easy to take it off.

Anyone got any more?

Like the rattles.

Not being in a yak, I just take more rods and lures.

Adam

i also like to keep a variety of blades. skirts, rattles, swivels and even a couple of blank wires with heads on them in a bag in the boat, every now and then im liking a colour skirt or weight but after a different blade or vice versa and rather than taking 100+ variations of spinnerbait with me ill just chop and change them on the run..

I like to keep some inline single hooks to swap out instead of trebles, if where I am fishing is weedy. (on my hard body lures)

Double shirts add bulk and contrast in color.

Make my own skirts for my spinnerbaits and instead of the normal 40 strands I add 60 to bulk it up.

I like the inline hook idea and have been meaning to try it out on Jackalls.

Its good been able to change your lure around without taking a heap of tackle boxes.

Another mod I use for Jackalls is to use one of those wire jigs that clip on with a blade.
So its just like a spinnerbait but with a Jackall instead of the jig head a skirt.
