 Lake Urana
Does anybody else on here remember shooting ducks at Lake Urana back in the 80s and earlier? FOr me it was back in the 80s with my old man. We use to have a ball shooting ducks, mainly pinkear duck, and also woodies blackies and teal. I took my wife and kids for a drive back up there yesterday and for the first time in many years it has water in it again, and the lake is an absolute haven for birds. There is ducks everywhere. We saw a whole heap of different species, including plumber whistling ducks, hardhead and many more. Anybody that use to shoot ducks over there might like to go for a drive and have a trip down memory lane like i did, its fantastic to see it full of water again. Its a petty your not allowed to shoot ducks in NSW anymore!!!

 Re: Lake Urana
Only p[roblem lewie is that its only a couple of feet deep at best. Apparently, it use to get up to 20 feet deep on wet years, but then people created a drain so that it cant fill up anymore. Instead it gets a couple of feet deep, and then the water flows out the drain into billabong creek. Does that sound right to you? Im only going on what ive heard.
