Post Lake Hume Classic
I just thought I'd start a thread for the reports from the Lake Hume Classic. It was my first ever real fishing comp and I gotta say I loved every second of it. Well done to Dave McKenna and all involved for a fantastic weekend. I'll certainly be back there again.

Fishing was pretty tough with only around 100 yella's caught for the weekend by the roughly 500 competitors. Truckloads of small reddies and a few carp and trout were also picked up. Biggest reddie I managed was 29cm, while I also picked up a PB yella of 54cm.

Well done Budgie,

We decided to at the last minute ....with a few (novice) mates.

I saw a few of the boys there, Boobs, & finally met Quanga face to face, said gDay to Brett, saw Fullboar ..., going 90kph !!, saw a couple of others with Codsseker Stickers too , pity we didnt get a chance to catchup for a couple of drinks, .......Boobs hope you found yopur Fuel Can & change.

I got one Yella went 55,.... but couldnt find a bloody weigh boat !!! , later found out 2 of em were hiding in a bay near each other ??.
Had a full throttle run up to Bowna ramp to measure him, by the time i got there she was about had it, swam her for about 30minutes....no good, weigh station attendant wanted to take it home ...( yuk ) so I didnt get a score !!

Just out of curiosity , did any one get a pic of my boat ??, Im chasing some pics of my boat as I havent got any of it going .

Well what a great weekend Gayle & I had aside from the fishing, haven't got any fish pics as we only managed a couple of reddies for the 2 days but we did run into a few fellow codseekers out on the water:
Jules & Scotty having a cast on Saturday morning.

We named this hill "Duck Chook Hill" for obvious reasons.

Great work guys on the yella's! Sooner or later I may manage to catch one myself lol

Great weekend at the Hume Classic once again and was good to catch up with everyone ones again.

Some great looking pics above, maybe worth posting them in our next soon to be announced comp.

Thanks to Dave McKenna and Roundy for making the Hume Classic great once again.

Great fish mate. They were certainly a bit hard to find that weekend.

Yer they definately were hard to find Quanger. The few I saw get caught were in awesome condition. Going to give it another go in a fortnight's time. Try and get onto a few

Cheers....Brett

Anyone cracked to code out the Hume yet? This year they seem to have disappeared. By now over the past few seasons I'd have caught 50 plus yellas. I reckon the clarity of the water may be keeping them deep and holding to structure more than past years.

I think your right there Shrekka. At the hume Classic, there didnt seem to be many yella's in under 15 foot of water as opposed to previous years when we got onto a few in the 12-15 foot range.

A couple more pics of the weekend....

My mate got 9 on the cast Monday arvo. I was heading away hunting, so couldn't go with him.. Grrr... But i'm gonna head out after work this arvo for a look. He was just casting Jackalls into the bank from his boat. He wasn't doing anything special, especially so because he hadn't caught a single yella out there till we went out a few weeks back!!

But i personally can't crack the code! Only landed one yella out there this year..
