Post lake bellfield redfin
fished bellfield again today, for the third day in a row fished for 6 hours trawling jackalls and stumpy's pulling up at each school of fish.averaged about 9 to 15 keepers the first 2 days and after 4 hours on the water today had a friendly visit from the local fisheries and we finally cleared up the do's and don'ts you are allowed to have your motor on the back .but you must have your fuel disconnected and your motor up,after a good chat we ended up drifting on to a clump of dead wattle trees so we decided to anchor and throw a few vibes.what a great decision 40 minutes later and 26 fish in the creel to a pound and a half.a lot later home than we expected but hell who cares.
heres a photo of this arvo's effort
cheers ray

Great effort mate, well done.

I will have to get up there sometime soon and get onto a few before they go off the bite.
My dear mother would love a feed of Reddies and would get me by for a few more years before i better go and get her some again.

How big do the Reddies go here? Are there any 5 - 6lbs like in Europe?

Cheers

Mate of mine got one near home that measured 53cm!! On a spinnerbait too.. Another bloke i fish with got one at Nagambie that weighed 9 1/2lbs when we got back to his place. Never used to measure them back then. As kids, we used to catch them consistently around 5-6lbs from Waranga basin.
