Post Hunting cams
Has anyone used or is using a hunting cam.

Looking at getting 2 for deer hunting and would like some feedback on them.

Cheers
Scott

Full boar I brought one of those 12mp wildview trail cameras of ebay about 6 weeks ago and for under $200 aus i am very impressed with them. On 8 AA batteries they say they can last between 3 and 6 month set up out the bush. But I usually are to excited after 2 to 3 weeks and go out and get it back. A few pics attached from it. Cheers Mal.

Thanks for that Mal you've sold me with them shots. Will order them today. Have you seen any of the deer more than once? Are they coming back around the same time nightly or is it over a few days? How far away from the cam are the deer in the shots?

Cheers

Scott

They can be frustrating to mate!

Mate of mine had been out for a long weekend and hadn't seen anything but lots of sign.

Set up a trail cam (from ebay also). His first picture was a nice stag - just over two hours after putting up the cam.

:)

Fullboar that preach tree was about 8m from the camera. I put the camera out the other week in Red deer country and got a few pics one of a fox at about 25 m with the camera senstivity set on normal. If set on high the wind in trees would set it of to often. The deer seem to have no consistancy of visiting at that tree. Cheers Mal.

Thanks for the info guys. I just ordered two Moultrie Game Spy D-55IR from the US. Getting back into Bow hunting so I just need to know when and where. The where part is fine as I know of lots of spots from my fishing trips that show a lot of deer action in the area. Even one spot that looks like they laying down a lot and spend some time here. Just need to know when and by the looks of it thats going to take time. Planning to use a tree stand or seat but I'm not keen on spending hours up a tree waiting for a deer to pass. I think the cam will cut out a lot of wasted time. I hope anyway. But like you said Mal they seem to have no consistency. Time will tell. I can see myself getting excited too and going in to have a look more often than I should but thats fine.

Scott, the cameras are awesome to view.

Mal showed me the footage he got on his just after having it out in the bush for afew weeks and i was very impressed with the quality and the amount of animals coming and going was great to see and rather exciting!

I'm thinking about setting up a few in the city's lane ways near some of the night clubs, would make for some interesting viewing the next day i rekon....
