 Howdy
G'day all thought i better show some forum decorum and intro myself.
My names Thomo and im from Corowa, i have never been a real serious cod fisherman but the bug has bit now and im loving it even though im not real good. My PB so far is a 78cm MC and a 72cm Trout cod.
I have a real attraction to surface fishing (think its a carry over from my time in Darwin) and am just starting to get some new gear to chase the cod with.
Currently im using a Silstar Crystal power tip adn Shimano Calcutta 200 that i brought about 12years ago, has served me well but i have a desire to go a little lighter in Graphite.
Looking at a couple of reels at the moment a Diawa Fuego ($100 local) and a Diawa Viento reel that i can get on sale for $88 us. Not sure what rod im going to mate them to but it needs to be 2 piece and under $200 as i like to keep it in the car with me at all times. Most of my fishing is land based just working the snags from the bank. but when i win lotto i will get a boat.
Anyway i best keep reading and learning all i can from here.
