Post Gummy Mayhem
Finally got out for fish after the horrid conditions that have been around this week. Not a touch at my first mark so headed for the secret spot! Not much happening to start with , and then with half an hour left before the change of tide it went berserk for the next hour an half landing 14 gummy sharks to 10kg :o and dropping around six. Kept two smaller models for a nice feed of Flake! :D (bag limit) This has been by far the most gummies I’ve ever landed and what started out a slow day ended up being a ripper. Not a sign of a snapper so hopefully head out Wednesday for a go at them.

Post Re: Gummy Mayhem
Sorry no pics, fishing by myself makes it a bit difficult, as some might no gummies do have a tendency to make thing messy when you get them in your boat. Not bragging  , but have landed a lot of gummies over the last few years so unless their of the larger variety (15kg or more) I just de hook them and throw them back, that's after I've got a feed of course.
Cheers

good work Joffa, thats a lot of gummies in a quick session.
When there on there on, the worst days fishing can quickly become a good one within a few minutes.
I keep telling myself that I will have to go out and chase some snapper and gummies every year but never get around to it.

Ray Method of choice was spinnerbaits  Single 7/0 circle hooks with a 100mm strip of squid and the other was half a large squid head, which the one bait landed three fish within ten minutes. All the norms I suppose steady barometer, change of tide at dusk on a new moon and a nice deep hole. Steady on boys. :) I just realized things lined up pretty well, have to remember that for next time. Boob's you should give it go, its top fun when you get onto a few. Joffa's charters will be running from now until christmas, cheap prices, can't promise any decent fish though. :) Good luck tomorrow Ray
Cheers

well. did no good except for a feed of peckerheads....snook and the odd whiting, had to move about a bit as being shadowed by seals...that strippped off any fish hooked b4 they got to the boat, then albatrosses later on..all on whitebait, pilchards and squid.

didnt even take out a lure...went on a charter off Queenscliff to the back of Torquay.

Would be nice to live near the coast to just slip out on those calm days for something different. Great report
