 Gday
Lads, Just new to this forum but been apart of other forums for quite a while. Thought id say Gday and introduce myself. Anyway im Matt, turning 23 in a few days so still a youngin i guess. Im an Electrician by trade and also a Volounteer firefighter at Caroline Springs Fire Brigade. I currently live in St.Albans but the family and i are building in Taylors Hill. Had the Mrs for quite a while and we are starting to think about the future, houses etc. But enough of that. My old man use to take me fishing alot when i was younger, off piers and the surf. In year 8 my mates and i use to ride our bikes to the Maribrynong River at Brimbank Park and go fishing, we use to catch eels, redfin and carp. But thats where the obsession started. Did that alot till i was 18 and got my licence. Thats when the obsession grew. I fish for trout, yellas and cod and practice c&r to 95% of fish caught. Only fish id take is the odd yella at the 1kg mark as when they get to big they get too fatty. Anyway i fish a number of places. I fish at Malmsbury Reservoir, Lauriston Reservoir, Lake Eppalock, Lake Eildon, Eildon Pondage, Pykes Creek Reservoir, Wombat Reservoir and the good ol Murray River. I fished Cairn Curran for the first time the other week and landed a quite a few good reddies and a couple of mud suckers. Did get a big run on the yabbies which got me excited. I will be back. I am a lure and bait fisherman. I have mainly been landbased, on the odd occassion on the boat with a mate, but saving for a boat and hopefully get a nice second hand tinny by about September October. Also just purchased an 04 Navara. You learn something new everyday so here to enhance me knowledge and become the best fisherman i could possibly be. Also hear to share what i know at places i have fished and species iv targetted. Tight Lines!
