There not really going yet. Another couple of weeks of consistant weather will turn those follows into takes. Just the odd lucky day at the moment

I think you are right Vass. Havent had the multiple fish escorting the hooked fish as in previous years....hopefully soon!!!

G'day Quanger, yeah, the old Doozer does the damage again, had one on myself earlier in the day , was going real good too, chucked it into a pile of submerged trees to see something flash out of the undergrowth and scoff the bugger, then take off and try and bury me into the thickets. The pagami was buckled over and the thing was going nuts, thought i was onto a goodun and only half an hr into the morning session. anyhow, is was keeping deep and shakin' its head all over the place, peeling off line, I was pumped. After about 2 minutes of that it started to come up and we got a glimmer of color before it took off to under the boat and tried to wind me around the minn kota. Another minute of that shenanigans and the bugger revealed itself as a predatory Carp, about 75cm. The disappointment and swearing that then happened lasted as long as the fight had.:). anyhow, got it along side the boat and donged it on the skull a couple of times with the rapala's before releasing it for cray bait. A couple of casts later the leader knot gave way and the doozer rested on top of one of those submerged pines about 6 ft under water. Lucky the water is so clear old goat boy spotted it and we retrieved it with the pole. another handy use discovered. After that it was my shout for the rest of the day.
Then it quietened down somewhat, a dozen or so small reddies and a few yella follows is all that happened whilst later int he afternoon the weather turned from the south and it started to get cold pretty quick...beer time had come early.

Ray, we had to "retrieve" a couple of Doozers ourselves up there the other day, I had 1 fly off when a knot failed after about three zilion casts & I watched it land about 30 metres away but luckily noted where in relation to a tree on the bank, so we motored over there & sure enough could see it sitting on the bottom & managed to get it back using another Doozer, later that evening the same thing happened to Jake but we couldn't see it as it was a bit deeper & the water was a bit cloudy due to boat wakes sloshing the bank so we lost that 1, at least so we thought, next morning, 12 hours later I hooked up to a decent fish on my 3rd cast of the morning only to be taken around a snag & ended up losing the fish after about 10 minutes, anyway Jake said we should look for that Doozer as the water looked a lot clearer so we had a look & sure enough managed to locate it albeit a fair way down, so, using the same method with another Doozer managed to get it back as well, didn't catch any rabbits though mate. When are you & Chicky heading north?
