Had a long weekend lined up ages ago to fish the first LMLFC comp but as that was cancelled due to the current state of the Murray I need to come up with a plan B quickly before my leave pass was cancelled by the boss!
A plan was quickly hatched to fish the Glenelg River with local guru & codseeker member NEXTCAST so @ 5am Friday I pointed the truck down the driveway & made the 500km drive to fishing paradise.
Fishing overall was pretty tough due to the large amount of freshwater still making it’s way down the system but once we located active fish it was game on! Most fish fell to suspending hard bodies in very very shallow water whilst vibes did the job in the deeper stuff.
Only saw one undersize mulloway boated over the weekend & all the bait fishos we spoke to were doing it pretty tough although I’m happy to stand corrected if anyone knows more than me!
The Glenelg River is an amazing place so if you haven’t been make sure you put it on your bucket list. This was my second expedition down there & I can’t wait to get back there again!
