 Adding Pictures to Forum
hi all
this applies all topics. When adding photos, please be sure to add them as an attachment. Any other way, it adds the pictures full size. In alot of cases this causes alot of the photo and the topic do disappear off the side of the screen. Also, for those with slower internet connections, the page takes too long to load. By adding the picture as an attachment, if anyone wants to see the pic in full size, then they can click on it.
The proper way to do it is 1. After your reply and under "UPLOAD ATTACHMENT", click browse 2. Locate your photo and click OK 3. Click "ADD THE FILE" 4. If you want to add more photos, then repeat the process. When done click on submit and you are away
if that doesnt work, just resize the pictures before posting them
Thanks Budgie

 Re: Adding Pictures to Forum
Sometimes when putting a fishing report together, adding the photo as an attachment isnt appropriate. When you add the photo directly into the post using [img] tags it makes it easier to type between the photos, giving an explanation of the photo. Is there a limit to the KB size, or pixel size of the photo? I usually try and limit each photo to 200kb or smaller and 800px width, and 700px height. Surely theyre not too big?

Most of my photos are this size, is that OK? 800px wide and 185kb.

 Re: Adding Pictures to Forum
there isnt really any need to flood the forum with oversize pics. 400 - 600 pixels should be more than enough

(fishnet) I really like this site and would like to share my reports here too, but i refuse to edit all of my photos twice. Its very time consuming posting a decent report with photos as it is. Copying and pasting a report here means codseeker members can read the report too, but sitting here re-typing the whole report because you think my photos are too big is something that i dont have time for. I am happy to put a dial-up warning in the heading of any fishing reports to alert people that the page will be slow to download if it contains a few photos, but if your still not happy with that, then i will not post them at all because its too inconvenient for me to host all the photos on 2 servers and type 2 reports.

 Re: Adding Pictures to Forum
my computer is a slow piece of shit over loaded with photos and the photos you have been posting wang dont take long to open at all. i'm sure most of our members wouldn't have a problem waitin a few extra seconds to view quality photos anyways. its only the larger ones where ya have to scroll across to read all writing and view entire pic that are a bit annoying. keep the pics/reports coming i say!
cheers JR...
